May the Spirit of Christmas...

This week's challenge on Sparkle Creations Weekly Christmas Challenge Blog is "No Colouring". I loved this challenge!

I bought these beautiful stamps from Inkadinkado at least 4 years ago and they have never touched an ink pad until now. This card came together in 20 minutes and I love it.

The patterned papers are from BoBunny's Midnight Frost 6 x 6 paper pack and the cardstock is Stampin' Up's Night of Navy.

The embossing was done with Stampendous' Pearlustre Alexandrite embossing powder. I embellished with Stamping Bella Dots, Stampin' Up Night of Navy ribbon, Amuse rhinestones & Waterfall Stickles.

The "Season's Greetings" stamp is from Stampin' Up's "Snow Swirled" stamp set and the rest of the stamps are from Inkadinkado.

To My Prince

This is the birthday card that I made my husband this year. His birthday was January 2nd.

I have had this idea in my head ever since Kraftin' Kimmie came out with the Princess line of stamps. I was going to make a friendship card and have a deer & other woodland creatures with Snow White. Then Kraftin' Kimmie came out with this Prince stamp and this is what I created instead.

The patterned papers are from Imaginisce's 6 x 6 Apple Cider paper pack & I used various Core'dinations cardstock.

The brads are from Die Cuts with a View and the ribbon is from Fabricland.

I used the Classic Oval Small & Large and Petite Oval Small & Large Nestabilities, the Tinkerbell Cricut Cartridge for the tree and EK Success' small yellow circle punch for all the apples in the tree.

The "Happy Birthday" stamp is from CTMH's Happy Holidays Set and all the rest of the stamps are from Kraftin' Kimmie.

I have entered this card in this week's Kraftin' Kimmie's Fairytale Challenge.

Yes, Trevor loved his card and he always appreciates my effort.

The patterned papers are from Reminisce's Making the Grade line and the cardstock is Bazzill's Crabapple Dark, Sawdust & Twilight Dark.

I used the Labels Small & Large Nestabilities and the googly eye & ribbon are from my stash.

Happy 2nd Birthday Carmyn!

Here is one of the cards that I made for my 2 year old cousin, Carmyn. I make one from Trevor, Amy, Sparkle & I and one from my grandparents.

This stamp made me think of her because she loves hugging her stuffed animals & dolls. When she gets a new huggable toy, that is the first thing she does once it is out of the wrapper....give it a big hug.

The patterned papers are from Basic Grey's Euphoria 6 x 6 paper pack & the cardstock is Bazzill Fussy.

I used Prima Marketing flowers, Scrapbook Sally brads & Embroidery Floss from my stash. I used Oval Nestabilities & a Bazzill Stitchz template to do the stitching.

The image stamp is from The Greeting Farm and the "Happy Birthday" sentiment stamp is from Stampendous and the "Be Silly and Have Fun" sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Copic Markers used: Hair - Y35, YR31 & Y32, Skin - R00 & R000, Purple - V15 & B12, Deep Pink - RV19 and Light Pink - RV11 & RV02.

I'm Nuts About You!

My first Christmas Card for 2011! Thank you Sparkle!

Amy & I have made it our New Year's Resolution to do Sparkle Creations Weekly Christmas Card Challenge. Amy participated in one two weeks ago, but this is my first one. This is my interpretation of this week's challenge; which is a Sketch Challenge.

Last week the challenge was to use a snowman and the week before was to use any type of embossing. I still plan on doing those challenges, but after I get some more birthday cards & February's Calendar page done.

I used Imaginisce's Cottage Christmas 6 x 6 paper pack and Bazzill Barkley & Hillary cardstock. The brads are from Die Cuts with a View.

All of the stamps are from Kraftin' Kimmie. I used an EK Success border punch on the inside and circle Nestabilities on the front of the card.

Copic Markers Used: Brown - E74 & E79; Red - E07; Orange - YR14 and Green - G99 & YG03.

I had a fabulous evening with Amy & she now wants to make it our Friday Night thing; which is just fine with me.

Pay It Forward

I promise to send something handmade to the first FIVE people who comment on this post. There is one condition - if you are one of the first five to comment, you must then post this and promise to send something homemade to FIVE other people. Just imagine all the great ideas that are going to be passed through our Snail Mail System.

To sum it up, the rules state that it must be something handmade or homemade by YOU and you must send to FIVE people within 2011. I promise I won't wait until December to send it. This time line just makes this promise more fun since the deadline isn't unrealistic for us busy crafters.

I also promise that if you do comment on this post and you are a person that I normally send birthday or holiday cards to, those cards won't count towards this "Pay It Forward Promise".

You can email me your address to ddigby@shaw.ca.

Happy Birthday Autumn!

My cousin turned 13 at the beginning of this month. We haven't seen her since her birthday, but we will see her this weekend at her youngest sister's birthday party. Both of their parents' birthdays are this month as well. So, I normally take them all their cards at the same time depending on when the birthday party is.

The patterned papers are from Basic Grey's Euphoria 6 x 6 paper pack & the cardstock is Bazzill Bouquet.

I used Prima Marketing flowers, Scrapbook Sally brads & Baker's Twine. I made the small photo corners with a Fiskars Square Hand Held Punch & EK Success' 1/2 square punch. The "13" came from the Hannah Montana Cricut Cartridge & the circles behind it are EK Success punches. I also used one of EK Success' border punches for the inside of the card.

The image stamp is from The Greeting Farm and the sentiment stamp is from CC Designs.

Copic Markers used: Hair - Y35, YR31 & Y32, Skin - R00 & R000, Jacket - RV19, Pants - B12 and Everything Purples - V15.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my mom's birthday and the first card in this post is the card that I made for her from Trevor, Amy, Sparkle & I.

My mom's favourite colour is blue and she loves butterflies. When I went to make this card, I was looking for a different butterfly in my stash when I came across this one and the card design just came to me.

The cardstock is from Stampin' Up & Bazzill and the patterned papers are from BoBunny's Midnight Frost 6x6 paper pack.

The butterfly is a Prima Marketing Jewel Box Butterfly, the buttons are from Stampin' Up, the staples are just from my regular stapler & the embroidery floss is from my stash.

I used CTMH's Happy Birthday Stamp Set & Sans Lowercase Alphabet Stamp Set and the sentiment stamp set on the inside is from A Muse Artstamps. To stamp the sentiments, I used Stampin' Up's Rich Razzleberry & Night of Navy ink.

The tools used on this card were the Zutter Distrezz-it-All, EK Success Border Punch & I drew the stitched swirl with a pencil and then hand stitched it. I also used the Clear & Baby Blue Copic Spica Pens (Glitter Pens) to accent the snoflakes on the card & the "Happy Birthday" sentiment.

The second card in this post was made from the scraps from my mom's birthday card. I have many cards to make from my grandparents and myself this month and I am sure this card will come in handy. The ribbon used on this card is from Stampin' Up.

You're As Sweet As Apple Pie!

Happy Birthday Mom!

My mom's birthday isn't until January 18th, but we are celebrating it today. By fluke, I used one of Kraftin' Kimmie's stamps from her New January Release that is today as well.

I love Kraftin' Kimmie's New Release. The new release will be available to purchase in the store when we open on Tuesday.

I made this card for my grandparents to give to my mom for her birthday. My grandfather is known for dropping off apples to mom for her to bake him a pie. So, you can see why this new image & sentiment from Kraftin' Kimmie is absolutely perfect.

I used Kraftin' Kimmie's Abigail Apple Stamp & sentiment and I used one of Inkadinkado stamps for the "Happy Birthday" on the inside of the card. To stamp the sentiments, I used Stampin' Up Cherry Cobbler Ink.

The patterned papers are from Imaginisce's Apple Cider 6x6 paper pack & KaiserCraft's Hey Birdie Collection 6x6 paper pack. I also used Bazzill & Stampin' Up cardstock.

The brads are from Scrapbook Sally and the ribbon is from Stampin' Up and I used the Lacy Squares Nestabilities to mat the image.

Copic Markers: Hair - E47, E49 & E59; Skin - E00 & E000; Red - E07, E19 & E09 and Yellow - YR24, YR21 & YR31.

January 2011 Calendar Page

Friday, February 11, 2011

For this Winter Page, I used We R Memory Keepers Merry January "Branch" & "Scarf" Patterned Papers and Olive Core'dinations Cardstock.

The "Winter" title is a die cut from We R Memory Keepers Merry January line and the glitter brads in the title & the snowflakes are from the same line. The chipboard snowflakes are from Maya Road and are painted with Tattered Angels Champagne Glitter Glaze.

I stitched the lines with my sewing machine to give the snowflakes a floating feel and the photo mats were distressed with my electronic distressor the Zutter Distrezz-it-All.
