The embroidery floss, buttons & brads are from Close to My Heart and the ribbon is from Stampin' Up. I used the Postage Stamp Nestability to cut out the die-cut.

Happy Birthday Shanna!

Last weekend was my best-friend, Shanna's, birthday and this was the card that I made for her.

I used BoBunny's Etc. 6 x 6 paper pack with Bazzill Cardstock.

To embellish the card, I used My Mind's Eye Kraft Funday - Every Day Fun Twine, Prima Marketing Say It in Pearls Brown Swirl and Antique Brass Medium Brads from my stash. The Prima Marketing Say It in Pearls Brown Swirl was one big embellishment that I cut up to suit my needs.

The three die-cuts on my page were cut out with the Postage Stamp, Floral Doily Motifs and Circle Nestabilities and all the patterned papers were distressed with CTMH's Chocolate Ink and a sponge dauber.

The stamps sets used for this card are Stampin' Up's Happiest Birthday Wishes and Perfect Words Stamp Sets. These are both Hostess Rewards stamp sets.

This was the first card that I got to sign our son's name to.

TJ's Nursery & Announcement

Good day!

I am sorry that I haven't been posting for awhile. I was having a problem with my blog and I wasn't able to upload any of my photos. Three weeks ago today, I had finally booked an appointment with my "Nerds on Site" guy to come and fix my computer, but I went into labour that day.

So, we finally got the problem with my blog fixed today and now I am able to blog again. I am not too far behind with my posts because I wasn't able to scrapbook for most of my pregnancy due to the pain that I was in.

The above photos are of my son's nursery.

TJ (Trevor John) Digby was born on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 11:53 p.m. He weighed 8 pounds 7.5 ounces and was 21.25 inches long.

He is named after his dad, Trevor and the name John is after my dad & my grandfather's first names and my brother & my cousin's middle names. These are all the important men in my life. Also, his initials are TJD. My maiden name initials were DJT (Donna Jean Thomson).

The first photo of the nursery is of the vinyl, chocolate brown tree & quote that is on the wall above TJ's crib. The tree is from Stampin' Up and it is the largest one that you can get. For the quote, I used the font from my "Child's First Year" Cricut Cartridge, Cricut brown vinyl and my husband's laser level.

As for a photo of my son being posted on my blog, I just don't feel comfortable doing it. If you go to my store's blog, you will see our new family photo with TJ in it. When it comes to the world wide web, I limit my children's photos to the minimum. That is why my layouts are always posted with just the mats or the photos covered up.

When you come by the store, you will see him in person or you will see his photos on my layouts on display in the store once I get back into my scrapbooking.

Thank you to everyone who has sent us email best wishes or who have dropped off gifts for TJ. Your love & generousity is greatly appreciated. We are very fortunate to have so many people who care about us and we truly appreciate it.

So Many Smiles....

My cousin, Emma, turned 12 last week and I made this card for her from my grandparents (her great-grandparents).

I loved this card so much, that I made 3 more.

The patterned papers are from Jillibean Soup "Dutch Mustard Soup" 6 x 6 mini pad and the cardstock is Bazzill.

I used one of EK Success' border punches and stitched with my sewing machine.

The happy face stamp & inside sentiment stamp came from an old Stampin' Up stamp set called "Smile". The sentiments on the front of the card are from Stampin' Up's "Petite Pairs" stamp set in their current catalogue and the "Happy Birthday" came from CTMH's "Say It In Style" stamp set.

I do hope that your day is the happy-face kind!

Happy 14th Birthday Darrien!

I made this card for my 14 year old cousin, Darrien. She loves sock monkeys, so this was the perfect stamp set to use for her card.

I used BoBunny's Forever Fall 6 x 6 paper pack with BoBunny Double Dot Cardstock.

I used CTMH Flower Buttons, BoBunny Ribbon, KI Memories Paper Clip, embroidery floss from my stash and Tim Holtz's Paper Distressor to rough up the edges of the papers.

The "Sock Monkey" stamp set and the "Petite Pairs" stamp set are both from Stampin' Up.

I coloured the sock monkey in with Copic Markers, but forgot to write down which ones.

Thank You.....for everything.

I really love CTMH's August Stamp of the Month - Wicked Stamp Set. I had a lot of fun with this card because I got to play with some new techniques.

The two-sided patterned papers are BoBunny's Strawberry Double Dot & BoBunny Vicki B. Floweret. The cardstock is from Bazzill.

I used Making Memories brads, Stampin' Up ribbon, CTMH button, embroidery floss from my stash and Tim Holtz Hobglobin Tissue Tape stained with Stampin' Up Tango Tangerine re-inker.

I used the following CTMH stamp sets for this card: Wicked - August Stamp of the Month; Limited Edition - September Stamp of the Month; Cherish the Day - November Stamp of the Month; A Little Thanks; Card Chatter - Thank You and Grown with Love.

I used CTMH's New Cricut Cartridge - Art Philosophy to cut out the ticket & the tag die-cuts. The shaped pocket that the witch is stamped on was cut out with my Nestabilities Grand Labels Four.

You still have time to order the August Stamp of the Month - Wicked.

Shanna has an order going in this Thursday, August 11, 2011. We needed this order to get in early in August so that we can order more stuff in for our Charity Stamping Party in September.

Shanna is on holidays and I am helping her organize this order. So, if you want to order the Stamp of the Month or anything else from CTMH, please email me your order at ddigby@shaw.ca or drop by the store.

Happy 16th Birthday Andrea!

It was my niece's 16th birthday this past week and this is the card that I made her.

I forgot to take my photo before signing the inside of the card. I believe that my cards look great on the inside until I sign them. Then it doesn't have the same feel to it, but the card must be signed so I try not to look at the card on the inside once they are signed.

The patterned papers are from Basic Grey's "Out of Print" 6 x 6 paper pack and I used Stampin' Up's Pool Party cardstock. You don't see too much of it, but I also used Basic Grey's "Out of Print" Paper Ribbon Doilies & Kaiser Craft Rhinestones to embellish the card.

The image stamp is Stamping Bella's "Cruise-a-bella" stamp. The sentiment stamps on the front of the card are from CTMH's "Cherish the Day" stamp set and "Fill in the Blank" stamp set. The inside sentiments came from CTMH's "Card Chatter - Birthday" stamp set.

I used my circle nestabilities for the circle die-cuts and Stampin' Up's Calypso Coral & Pool Party Ink to stamp out the sentiments on the card. The black line on the inside of the card was done with a marker and a ruler.

The Copic Markers used: Hair - E37 & E39; Skin - E00 & E000; Tires - W10; Coral - R24; Teal - C1 & BG11

Have a Wicked Halloween!

The new CTMH Catalogues arrived this week. My consultant, is also my best-friend. She receives all the Stamps of the Months with her catalogue order and I was able to play last night with the August Stamp of the Month - Wicked.

I love this stamp set.

I used BoBunny's Vicki Cut-Outs two sided patterned paper with Bobunny Strawberry Double Dot and Bazill Bitter Chocolate, Classic Orange & Intense Kiwi.

The border strip was punched out with one of EK Success' Large Border Punches. I embellished the card by stitching around the card with my sewing machine and by adding Basic Grey's Bling It Square Rhinestones. I also rounded the corners of the patterned paper with EK Success' Medium Corner Rounder.

For the inside of the card, the middle sentiment was cut out with Spellbinder's Labels 14 Nestability and I used Stampin' Up's Photo Corner punch in the corners.

All the little words around the border strip are from CTMH's "Authentic" and "Fill in the Blank" stamp sets. The spiders, the witch, inside sentiments and the hat are all from CTMH's August Stamp of the Month - Wicked stamp set.

Close to My Heart's new catalogue not only has some great Stamps of the Month, but the stamp set prices have come down, the Stamp of the Month program has changed and they have partnered up with Cricut.

That's right! There is a Cricut Cartridge for sale in the CTMH catalogue that comes with chipboard die-cuts and 3 D-Size stamp sets for $109.95.

Throughout the catalogue you will see red lines around some of the stamps. That means that shape is on the Cricut Cartridge. When you purchase that stamp set, it will tell you what size to cut that shape out to fit that stamped image on the Cricut cut out. The Cartridge also has a font on it.

If you don't know how to get your hands on a Close to My Heart catalogue, I always keep extras on hand here for people to purchase for $5.00. I also have extra Stampin' Up catalogues here as well for $12.00.

Stampin' Up's new ribbon collections are gorgeous. To see one of their new ruffled ribbons on a layout, you can go to my store's blog and check out the September Calendar Page.

Have a Wicked Day!

The brads are from my stash and the ribbon is from Stampin' Up.

The monkey image stamp is from CC Designs, the "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from CTMH's "Happy Birthday" stamp set and the inside sentiment is from Stampin' Up's "Bring on the Cake" stamp set.

The stick pin is from Maya Roads, the ribbon is from American Crafts, I did a tight brown stitch around the edge with my sewing machine and distressed the edges with brown ink.

The rest of the sentiments were hand written.

Teacher Card

For this teacher's card, I used Basic Grey's New "Out of Print" 6 x 6 paper pack with BoBunny Island Mist Double Dot & Bazzill Butter Dotted Swiss.

Happy Graduation Darrien!

My soon to be 14 year old cousin, Darrien, graduated from Grade 8 this school year. She is very appreciative of all my homemade cards. So I thought instead of making her a card for graduation, I would make her a chipboard album to highlight her graduation.

The last day of school was not only tough for Darrien, but for me as well. My cousins used to live in my rental suite here and I was out on the front step with her when she got on the bus for her first day of JK.

After my cousins moved into their first home, their daughters still came here after school until they were finished work. This was Darrien's last time getting off the bus here after school.

Luckily, both of my cousins & my daughter are always emotional on the last day of school. As my sobbing girls got off the bus today, I met them out front with open arms and joined them in a cry. Then we went out for ice cream.

Darrien loved her album. I love her album.

The chipboard album is from an old line of BoBunny's. It actually spelled out "GRADE", I just didn't use the "E".

The patterned papers used throughout this album were all from Reminisce's Graduation Celebration two-sided patterned papers. The Black & Silver Glitter papers are from Best Creations.

I painted all the edges white. After gluing on the papers, I spent 2 hours sanding all the edges down so that none of the paper edges could get caught on anything and rip. Then I painted all the edges with white paint again.

I used the Varsity Cricut Cartridge for my lettering and the Tim Holtz Film Strip die cut with my Cuttlebug for the film strips.

All the Graduation photo mats are from a package of Me & My Big Ideas Graduation Photo Sleeves. The large white flower is from Prima Marketing and the flower in the middle of it was cut out from one of my nestabilities.

All the ribbon, rhinestones, the glitter brad & the "buds" plastic mini tag are from my stash from various companies.

The 6 black flowers in the album were white Prima Marketing flowers died with a CTMH Spray Pen & Black Re-inker and then glitzed with Tattered Angels Slate Glimmer Mist.

The grad cap die cuts were punched out with a small EK Success punch.

If you are wondering about the skull & cross bone ribbon, Darrien loves things with skulls & cross bones on it. So, I just had to incorporate it somewhere to make it more like her.

Congratulations Graduate!

Here is a graduation card that I designed this year. I loved it so much that I have prepped to make a total of 8 of these cards.

In the next few years, our family has a few Grade 8 grads. Since I make a card from me and one from my grandparents, I thought this card would be a great one to have on hand to give out from my grandparents. This year we had two grad 8 grads in our family.

I used Reminisce's Graduation Celebration - Carpe Diem two-sided patterned paper and Bazzill Prismatic Black & White Cardstock.

The brads are from Scrapbook Sally, the buttons are from Fabricland, the ribbon is from Stampin' Up and the embroidery floss is from my stash.

The front sentiment is from Stampin' Up, the "Congratulations" is from CTMH and the little diploma stamp is from Stampendous. I drew the lines in with a ruler and a Zig black marker.

Amy's Party Favours

At every Birthday Party of Amy's, I take a picture of her which each guest.

This year at her friend's birthday party, I decided to scrapbook a 6 x 6 page for each of her guests so they had a fun way to display this photo.

I pre-made all the pages. That way at the party, we just had to add the 3.5 x 5 photo to the page and glue the word friendship on so that each guest went home with their party favour.

Thank you Shanna for running to Black's to get the photos printed during the party and for putting them together while I ran the games.

I used various patterned papers with numbers on it to go with the "Minute to Win It" theme and I used Bazzill cardstock that matched.

The brads and ribbon were from various companies and of various colours to match the patterned papers.

The "Time to Celebrate" and "friendship" stamps are from Stampin' Up.

I used a 6 x 6 page protector as the frame. I used my sewing machine to stitch the zig zag stitch and hemp twine to hang the final product.

Amy's 13th Birthday Friend Invite

For Amy's Friend Birthday Party this year, we did a Minute to Win It themed party.

Minute to Win It is a popular game show that makes challenges using normal household items to try and do in a minute or less. For instance, take a spaghetti noodle in your mouth and without using your hands, you have to slide 5 penne noodles off of a table onto your spaghetti noodle. If any of the noodles fall off or breaks, you have lost the challenge.

Amy and her friends had a fabulous time and it was a lot of fun to watch because some of the challenges were a bit silly looking.

Since Senior Kindergarten, Amy has asked her friends from school to give her money instead of gifts for her birthday. Amy then takes all that money and donates it to the charity of her choice.

This year she decided to split it amongst two charities. Half of her birthday money went to her school's breakfast club and the other half went to the Thunder Bay Therapeutic Riding Association. Amy invited 50 children to her birthday party and we had 35 in attendance. She was able to give $325.00 to each charity.

At her school assembly last week, Amy was recognized for her continuous generosity, academics and involvement at school and was given the Grade 7 Character Award. We are always very proud of her, but we were especially proud of her on that day.

For the front of the pocket card, I embossed it with Sizzix' Tim Holtz Clock Texture Plate. All the cardstock used on this invitation is from Bazzill.

The funky rectangles were cut out with my Cricut Machine. The circles and the clock hands were punched out with EK Success punches. The pull tab on the side was punched out with a Stampin' Up punch.

The "Minute" & "Win It" were stamped out with CTMH's "Atomic Caps" alphabet set. The "2" was stamped out with CTMH's "Precious" alphabet set. The "Good Luck" sentiment is from Stampin' Up's "So Happy For You" stamp set and the word "pull" is from another CTMH stamp set. I still can't remember which set it is and I still don't really feel like searching through 20 boxes of CTMH stamp sets to figure it out.

The jagged edges on the information part of the invitation was done with one of my funky blades on my Purple Cow Straight Cutter.

The the information was designed and printed off of my computer.

This is the invitation that I made for Amy's 13th Family Birthday BBQ.

For the front of the pocket card, I embossed it with Sizzix' Tim Holtz Clock Texture Plate. All the cardstock used on this invitation is from Bazzill.

The number "13" and the funky rectangles were cut out with my Cricut Machine. The circles and the clock hands were punched out with EK Success punches. The pull tab on the side was punched out with a Stampin' Up punch.

The "Time" & "Flies" were stamped out with CTMH's "Atomic Caps" alphabet set. The "Precious Moments" sentiment is from CTMH's "Unity" Stamp Set and the word "pull" is from another CTMH stamp set. I can't remember which set it is and I don't really feel like searching through 20 boxes of CTMH stamp sets to figure it out.

Cheerleading Thank You Card

I made this card for Amy's Cheerleading Supervisors. The photos are horrible because I finished them the night before we had to give it to them and I couldn't get a better shot in my house that late at night.

If you follow my blog, you may notice that this one looks familiar. I made the same card for my grandparents for Valentine's Day. I just used different paper and different sentiments.

My daughter goes to Ecole Gron Morgan and they are the Gron Morgan Dragons. Their school colours are teal & purple.

I used the 6 x 6 Basic Grey Euphoria Paper Pack with Bazzill Cardstock.

The square rhinestones are from Basic Grey and the ribbon is from BoBunny. The straight stitch was done on my sewing machine with purple thread from my stash.

The border punch is from Stampin' Up & the pom pom punch outs are from EK Success.

The dragon stamp is from CC Designs, the "Thank You" sentiment is from CTMH and the other sentiment is from Stampin' Up (I think).

Copic Markers used: BG02 & V15
